MOHAMMEDAN SC ADD JITEN MURMU TO ROSTER

Kolkata: Mohammedan Sporting Club, on Saturday, has secured the signing of promising youngster Jiten Murmu for the upcoming season.

Hailing from Hooghly, the striker began his career with East Bengal’s Under-19 team in 2011, and after a string of impressive performances in U-19 I-League and other age group tournaments he was promoted to the senior squad in 2013 during Brazilian coach Marcos Falopa’s reign.

Since then, the 22-year-old was a regular feature for East Bengal in Calcutta Football League, under coaches like Trevor James Morgan, Armando Colaco and Biswajit Bhattacharya, who is current Mohammedan SC coach.

Mohammedan SC has also registered Jiten at the IFA Office today, alongside Richard Agwu Somtochukwu, Amitava Ganguly and Muslim Molla, who is promoted from club’s U-18 team.

Meanwhile, the Black Panthers played a friendly game against George Telegraph SC which ended in a goalless draw at club ground.
