MOHAMMEDAN SC CLINCH INAUGURAL THE SULTAN AHMED MEMORIAL U-14 CHAMPIONSHIP

KOLKATA: Mohammedan Sporting Club beat YDP XI 4-3 in the final to crown champions in the inaugural Sultan Ahmed Memorial U-14 Football Championship. The match ended goalless after regulation time.

Coached by Mohammad Sahid, the Young Panthers beat Bhawanipore Club 3-0 in the semifinal while YDP XI edged out mighty Mohun Began on penalties after a hard fought 2-2 draw.

Former India captain and Mohammedan Sporting legend Mr. Prasun Banerjee and Mrs. Sajda Ahmed, M.P graced the occasion as Guest In Chief, alongside Club President Mr. Mohammad Amiruddin, Working President Mr. Jameel Manzar, General Secretary Mr. Ghazal Uz Zafar, Football Secretary Mr. Sharique Ahmed, Official Mr. Iqbal Ahmed and other executive committee members.

In between semifinals and final an exhibition match for the Lt. Ibrahim Mollah Trophy, named after former Club Secretary, played between Calcutta Sports Journalists Club XI and Press Photographers XI. While another exhibition match played between Club Officials’ XI and Coach’s XI. CSJC XI and Coaches’ XI  won the matches respectively.
