Biswajit Bhattacharya returns as Mohammedan SC coach

KOLKATA: Mohammedan Sporting Club have turned to a familiar face to take charge of the first team after re-appointing Biswajit Bhattacharya as head coach on a one-year contract. The former Indian striker will assume his duties from 19 June, 2017.

Coach Bhattacharya, who previously coached Mohun Bagan, United Sports Club, Viva Kerala, Calcutta Port Trust, George Telegraph and Eas Bengal, makes his second return to the helm of Mohammedan Sporting Club, having led the Black Panthers in 2008/09 I-League.

As a player, he was part of the Indian national team in the 1984 Nehru Gold Cup, where he scored a spectacular goal against Poland, and he also featured in various other major tournaments.
