KOLKATA: Mohammedan Sporting Club were held to a goalless draw by Roundglass Punjab FC in their Hero I-League clash at Kalyani Municipal Stadium on Sunday.
The Black Panthers created a couple of very good chances but failed to make them count and head coach Jose Hevia bemoaned his side’s finishing during the post-match press conference.
“We created a lot of chances and this speaks very highly of the team. But we have to put those balls into the goal and today was not that day. We had chances to score especially in set-pieces but tonight we couldn’t score. Hopefully, we are going to continue training and try to convert these chances.” reflected Hevia.
Hevia watched his team agonisingly coming close to collecting maximum points from a resistant Punjab FC.
“There has been a massive effort from the players. I am happy with the improvements that we are making after every game,” the Spaniard added.
“Our focus will be on the game against Neroca,” concluded Hevia. “The next few days will allow us some preparation time and we look forward to that encounter.”
