KOLKATA: Mohammedan Sporting Club Under-19 starlet Sovan Sen is not losing sleep on being promoted to Mohammedan Sporting’s senior team and says he would prefer to let his work on the field to do the talking for him.
The versatile attacking midfielder has been making a name for himself in the ongoing Zee Bangla Football League and the Black Panthers technical team has seen fit to elevate him to the senior side as he consistently produced performances that belied his tender age.
“I am very happy because it is something I have always wanted, to be promoted to the senior team. It is not just anybody who gets the chance to play for Mohammedan Sporting Club,” the diminutive Sovan, who has been in the club’s development structures since he was 14, told mohammedansportingindia.com.
“Now that I have achieved it I am delighted and I am going to work harder than ever. It motivates me that I will be playing for a big team like Mohammedan Sporting under someone like Subarta Bhattacharya. My family and friends keep on encouraging me to work hard. Now my job is to stay focused and I am sure my time will come,” he added.
